Accelerating the pace of progress

I design initiatives, shape narratives and build teams to implement transformational social and environmental impact. My value is most deeply set in mapping landscapes with leaders and stakeholders to find opportunity, then envisioning the work that transforms this potential into reality. As CEO of FM Civic, it is my job to push us to dream what is possible and find the resources and the room to manifest it.

My vision is that FM Civic’s work catalyzes enduring, systems-level impact that accelerates the timeline of human progress. In the long arc of humanity, we are alive for the first chapter of a new story where prosperity is possible for everyone, where we do not need to sacrifice our relationships with Nature for people to achieve prosperity, where we can collectively remember and revere what makes being human on this planet so special in the universe. Every bit of me is oriented toward bringing this future closer, faster.

My work is built on a 30-year career of leadership in strategic communications, public affairs, policy development, civic engagement, crisis response, program design, and nonprofit organizational development in the fields of conservation, land-use, transportation, housing, healthcare, higher education, energy and economic development.I hold a Bachelor’s degree in political science and environmental studies from the University of Oregon, and a Master’s degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri where I focused on data-driven reporting and the impact of messaging strategies on credibility.
