Engaging diverse stakeholders on their own terms, on their own time in ways that educate and empower is rapidly becoming the expectation of every government agency--from cities of 3,000 to 3 million.

Doing this work requires a team. Our role is strategist and partner to governments, their consultants and community organizations seeking to engage everyone in vibrant community dialogue that raises the bar for what's possible.

CITY OF BEND

The City of Bend is a national leader in growth management and infrastructure planning in response to rapid community change. FM Civic’s principal has worked with the City of Bend on a variety of initiatives for more than 10 years, including housing policy, transportation planning, and long-range strategic planning through community engagement and strategic communications approaches and support.

PARTNERS FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Partners for Affordable Housing is a diverse coalition of impacted people and organizations educating the public on bold solutions that increase housing supply and lower housing costs in Central Oregon. FM Civic manages the coalition, including governmental work, strategic communications, policy development, workshop and meeting facilitation, education, storytelling, social media strategy, and more.

MOVE BEND

Move Bend was a transportation coalition dedicated to advancing transportation solutions in Central Oregon. The 40+ members helped lay the foundation for community support of a transportation bond in Bend and in advocating for multimodal facilities across the region. FM Civic’s principal built the campaign’s powerful brand and communications approach while supporting the collective impact coalition.

COLLABORATIVE HOUSING WORKGROUP

In 2016, FM Civic’s principal designed the Bend Collaborative Housing Workgroup–a diverse group of community stakeholders working together to develop housing solutions. The workgroup contracted with ECONorthwest and Cogan Owens Greene to provide advising and planning support. All 12 strategies proposed by the group were adopted by the City of Bend and formed a foundation of innovative housing strategies at the agency.
